You may find it helpful to have a planned overview of all aspects of the party, such as the decorations, activities, food, etc. Always allow plenty of time to prepare for the party. Make lists. Make sure to get the big things, then worry about the smaller details later, as these things are due to change over the course of the planning. Create a fun and inviting atmosphere, though make sure it all relates back to your theme. You may wish to add incense or scented candles. Have fun, appropriate music playing in the background. Creative lighting always helps. Strobe lights and colored lamps add to it. Use the color black. Drape the table in black, so as to add bright, exuberant colors in contrast. A number of different activities and surprises always keep the party interesting.
Small children can’t be expected to sit and watch the game. If there are going to be kids at the party, be sure to have toys, play dough, puzzles or other activities. You could send the kids on a scavenger hunt, or blow up some balloons and let them play their own football with them.
