Super Bowl Games
In an entertaining Super Bowl game, the Indianapolis Colts defeated the Chicago Bears 29 to 17 in Super Bowl XLI in Miami, Florida. Quarterback Peyton Manning led the charge for the Colts with 247 and one touchdown. He completed 25 of 38 passes to win his first Super Bowl in as many chances. Once accused of not being able to win big games, he secured his place among the great quarterbacks of the NFL by his stellar performance in this year’s championship game. Another notable storyline in the game involves Tony Dungy, the coach of the Colts. He became the first African-American head coach in Super Bowl history to lead his team to the championship. This is truly a significant event, considering that just 40 years ago, no black head coaches existed in the NFL.
Superbowl Game
Stunned by Devin Hester’s 92 yard game-opening kickoff return for a touchdown and the Chris Harris interception on the Colts first drive, the Colts shook off their sluggish start. Leading 16 to 14 at halftime, the Colts used up half the second quarter on one drive that lead to an Adam Vinatieri field goal. They never looked back and won the game by twelve points in one of the most memorable Super Bowl games in recent history. Dominic Rhodes, a seven year veteran out of the Midwestern State, rushed for 113 yards on 21 attempts. His1 yard touchdown scamper came in the first quarter. He did not disappoint in his first Super Bowl game.

Super Bowl Game
On the losing end of the Chicago Bears, Rex Grossman received a lot of the punishment after the game for his inability to move the Bears down the field. Overall, he passed 20 for 28 for 168 yards, connecting for one touchdown and two interceptions. Thomas Jones had a nice day rushing for the Bears, 112 yards on 15 attempts, but it was not enough to pull out the victory. Turnovers were abundant and buried the Bears. Gabe Reid and Cedric Benson lost fumbles and Grossman was picked off two times, preventing the Bears from mounting a few more scoring drives together. For most of the Bears and Colts, that was their first Super Bowl game.
