Super Bowl Trophy
Super Bowl Trophy
The Super Bowl trophy has seen locations in a number of different cities. After the first Super Bowl trophy game, whenever it may have been, the popularity of the sport grew rapidly. Colleges began regimenting programs to encourage male students to participate and to practice and develop skill in the game in the hopes of one day bringing home the Super Bowl trophy. The sport was developed with men dominantly in mind and while there are female leagues in action today, it is still regarded as men-only players allowed. Over the course of several decades, we saw the development of the American Football League or AFL, and the instatement of the National Football League, or NFL. In the early 1970’s however, the two separate leagues merged and became what is still called the NFL. The winners play for the Super Bowl trophy.
Superbowl Trophy
Like other sports, the Super Bowl trophy sport began play with a completely round ball, typically made of leather or other varieties of animal skin. Some time in the early 1900’s, the ball took on more of an egg-shape fighting for the Super Bowl trophy, so designed to provide easier catching ability and a more aerodynamic design. The modern day football can sail much farther than the round balls of old and are made of pigs’ hide, hence the nickname pigskin. The Super Bowl trophy each year is also known as the Vince Lombardi trophy.

Once the ball is caught, the race to score a touch-down, which is worth 6 points, is on. As the ball is set in motion, it is the goal of the defensive Super Bowl trophy team, the team without the ball in possession to stop the opposing team from bringing the ball down the field and scoring. The most common way to win the Super Bowl trophy and keep this from happening is to tackle the player who has the ball, which then results in what is called a down. The team with possession of the ball has four downs, essentially, to get the ball to their end zone and score or get gain enough yards with the ball to earn another four chances, before the ball changes possession to the other team. The primary objective of teams for the Super Bowl trophy is to win it. The Super Bowl trophy is not an easy trophy to win, as once you get the Super Bowl it’s an entirely different proposition to win it all.
