Super Bowl Squares

Super Bowl Squares

Every year, millions of people become involved in Super Bowl squares at home and in the workplace. Squares are a form of betting associated specifically with the Super Bowl. Here is how to set up a game of squares. First, you make a square grid on a piece of paper and put 100 boxes inside of it. Next, number 0 through 9 on each box on the left side of the grid, left of each square, and label that side one of the teams participating in the Super Bowl. You do the same thing at the top of the grid, number 0 through 9 above each square and mark the other team playing in the game. After this, you set a price and offer each of the 100 grids for sale. There is no limit to how many one person can purchase. Often times it is wise for one to buy multiple boxes to increase your chances of winning the pot. After the boxes are sold off, each box is labeled to indicate who purchased each number and who the winnings will go to. When these tasks are completed, watch the game to determine the winners.

Upon completion of the game, the final score becomes the indicator of who wins the pot. To determine the winner, match the last digit of each team's final score with the grid. For example, if the Detroit Lions beat the Arizona Cardinals 24-19, would mean finding the square where 9 on the vertical side converges with 4 on the horizontal side. Whoever’s square is at this position takes home whatever the pot total is. It is common for the price of each Super Bowl square to be $5 or $10.

Their can be multiple winners, however, as taking the final point total of the game is not the only way to distribute money. The pot can also be divided between the winners of each quarter. Sometimes that money is a percentage and sometimes that money is a set amount, like $15 to the winner of the first quarter, or $20 to the winner of the second quarter. There are numbers that are not common football scores, such as 2’s or 8’s, so it is advised to stick with the 3’s and 7’s when you are picking your boxes. 3’s and 7’s are the most common because these amounts of points are received when a team scores a field goal or a touchdown, respectively. Super Bowl squares can equal very nice payouts for those lucky enough to select the correct numbers.
