AFC

The AFC stands for the American Football Conference, but it wasn't always that way. Before the AFC their was the AFL. The AFL is now the AFC as the NFL merged with the AFL. The NFL decided to divide the conferences so you have an NFC and a AFC. Both conferences will tell you that they are better and if you don't believe them just ask some of the fans of these AFC teams. The AFC has playoff games just like the NFC to see who they will send to the Super Bowl. In recent years the AFC football teams have had real good luck in the Super Bowl. It seems that the AFC teams have hot on something as they usually play better than NFC teams. Most of the AFC teams are also located in hard working towns where the unemployment rates are high or these cities are struggling. Not every team are in these kind of cities in the AFC but alot are. Over the years the AFC has changed many different logos as the NFL always seems to change them every few years.

Over the years the AFC have had many memorable games and players which has defined the AFC as a conference of hard nosed football players. From George Blanda of the Oakland Raiders to John Elway of the Denver Broncos the AFC has and always will be a conference that plays a tough brand of football and that's the way the fans of these teams seem to like it. AFC championship games have been some of the most entertaining games in NFL history to ever watch. Over the years many memorable plays such as the drive by John Elway when he had to drive the ball over 90 yards to get his team to the Super Bowl against the Cleveland Browns. This is just one example why the AFC is considered a people's conference and will continue to be for a very long time to come. The AFC has many of the old AFL teams that came into the league when the merger took place. Their is alot of history in the AFC and that will continue in the coming years. Look for the brand of football in the AFC to get even better as the years go by.
